About Us

Just two guys trying to share our hobby with the community! Between us we play a huge range of game systems including Warhammer 40k and fantasy, Bolt Action, X-Wing Miniatures and even MTG, as well as a whole host of standalone board games and RPGs which may also find time to shine on the blog.

Most of our content will revolve around the building and painting aspects of the hobby, even though we both love playing our games, work and study can often make it hard for us to get together with each other, or with our fellow club members, to throw some dice. As we get more confident with our writing, and the photography, we may be able to branch out into some painting tutorials, but only time will tell on that front.

Check out our bios below to get a feel for what each of us are into, and what sort of content we might be putting out!

Alex

Since starting Warhammer 40k way back in 2012, I have been active in the hobby fairly consistently. Starting with my small Dark Angels starter set, I have since discovered many more armies and even different games, spending time (and far too much money!) on all of them.

I am hoping to post content across the whole range of games that we mentioned above; my scattergun approach to getting into new games a few years ago has left me with a wide variety of minis to work on, and subsequently share here, so no content is off limits for me really. Living in the middle of nowhere does make creating gaming content somewhat more difficult for me, however when I am able to make it down to the local club (7 miles away!) I will definitely try to work on some content with the great guys there.

Jacob

My hobby journey began at the end of 2014 where after much encouragement from Alex, I was given the Dark Vengeance starter set for Christmas, and I think it’s safe to say my wallet has not been the same again…

Just like Alex, I play a variety of different games such as 40k, Age of Sigmar and Bolt Action, I hope to contribute some interesting content about different aspects of these games and the surrounding wider hobby. Unfortunately as I have just started a Mechanical Engineering undergraduate degree, I don’t have so much time for hobby myself and so there will be limited updates on that front – sorry!

However, studying in Nottingham does have its advantages as I’m currently about a 10 minute tram journey from Warhammer World, so getting games in isn’t so much of a problem – although I’m yet to have one there this year!
